Thompson in team tug of war!
The last week has seen some excellent developments in the Lions and Tigers squads with talented number 17, Toby Thompson, the centre of much attention. Not unlike the Mascherano situation at Liverpool, Thompson is currently on loan at the Tigers and awaiting completion of his transfer. However, following the matches yesterday, Terrie Jenkins, Lions Director of Football was heard to have put in a bid which has turned the heads of Thompson's owners, Badger, Badger, Fox and Badger.
Some rapid developments yesterday evening have resulted in Toby returning to the much improved Lions in search of the early season form that made him such a target for the leading clubs.
Thompson and his owners were unavailable for comment at the time of writing but Tigers manager Bennett said 'it's important that TT gets to enjoy his football and ultimately, I want him to play where he can have most influence in a game. However, I will be asking the FA to investigate Mrs Jenkins and her approach as I believe it's close to what they call 'tapping up'. The offer of unlimited Curly Wurlys, Starbursts and Sherbert Lemons is surely not right. And that was just for his parents!'
Elsewhere, rumours abound that talented athlete, Sam Sawyers, is changing his football career for athletics. We hope to find out more this next week.
