Race to victory
As you may or may not beaware Alex and Callum have just crossed the line in their first ever road race - The Green Park Challenge in Reading.
As a result of their efforts Alex is now the current undefeated Berkshire Under-5 3000m Champion. Callum was also crowned Reading District Under-8 3000m Steeplechase Champion.
There were 900 starters in the Family 3km run just before the Reading Half Marathon. The race finished inside the Reading Madjeski Stadium in front of a large crowd. As one of te youngest entrants Alex got a mention on the PA system as he crossed the line and the roar was loader than when Reading score! Both boys slept with their medals on later that evening.
Callum came in 442th in 16:52 with Alex 845th in 24:51. Both ran the full distance without stopping.
Callum has begun intensive training for his first Triathlon in May. Results to follow.

Woodley Saints Panthers U7 did a tremendous job in raising funds for the Saints Astro Park facility. 9 players and parents all took part in the race and impressively managed to raise over £1000 for the facility. Well done Panthers!
